Champs Meets are Approaching!

Meet declarations for the Championship Meets continue, please stick to the timelines. Next up - ABE's!

On Friday July 25th and Saturday the 26th, Westwood Heights Swim Club will host the ABE League Swimming Championships. On Friday July 25th, the 8 & under events along with the Crescendo Relays will be held that evening.  Saturday morning the 26th, the 13-14 and 15 and over age groups will compete.  That afternoon, ABE Champs will conclude with the 9-10 and 11-12 age groups.  Specific times will be released by Westwood Heights the closer we get to the meet and once entries have been submitted. 

We need to first determine who is available to compete at the ABE Swimming Championships. If you compete in the 15 & over age group, ALL swim athletes will be eligible to compete at the ABE Champs but MUST declare their intentions to compete.

ALL 13-14 and under age groups also MUST declare for ABE's. This does not mean you WILL compete at ABE's, only that you are available to compete. Entries will be determined by age group based on availability and times performed during this dual meet season.  You may not enter an event with a NT (no time) and must have competed or been eligible (because of a rainout) to compete in 3 dual meets.  

The ABE Championship Meet is a scored event, and typically per event, the 3 fastest times will be entered for the team.  As coaches we select events based on what is most likely the best event to score points for the team.  This is based on times performed during the season by ABE league athletes.  

To summarize, swimmers in the 8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and 15 & over age groups, please check your calendars for Friday July 25th and Saturday July 26th. Then make your declaration for the meet by Wednesday at NOON. Rosters and entries for ABE's will be finalized and announced by Thursday of this week.
